Dead Battery - West Marine Tactical 600 flashlight battery

I have had one of these flashlights for several years and when the battery went dead I found there wasn't any replacement batteries available at West Marine and when I went to look for the model # on the internet, there was none sold anywhere.

I tried several li-ion batteries that looked like they would be compatible and after several attempts I had given up! Then I restarted my research to see if there was a similar flashlight made by the same manufacturer and discovered Olight has comparable product with the same voltage etc.

Then I found and ordered this battery sold on eBay that is the replacement for this flashlight.

The battery arrives in the form of a mini flashlight which is probably the way the Chinese avoid trade restrictions. Open the end of the cheap mini flashlight and the battery I ordered was there.

The original battery is considered "Olight Proprietary Flat Top", impossible to find, and this one on eBay is a "Button Top". Nonetheless, I gave it a shot and when I inserted the battery into the West Marine LED 600 flashlight, it worked perfectly. It recharges and allows to charge USB devices off of it as well.

I bought a USB Type A Male to USB Type A Male cable from Amazon

Hope this blog post helps save your awesome flashlight from being thrown in the trash.
